The founding of Sigma Chi

In the fall of 1854 a disagreement arose in Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. This chapter consisted of 12 men. Six of them, lef by Whitelaw Reid, supported one of the members for Poet in the Erodelphian Literary Society. Read more

The founding of Kappa Chapter

In 1855, Phi Kappa Psi established the first Greek-letter organization at Bucknell University. The Phi Psis controlled the majority of the offices on campus and generally monopolized the school. The students looked for methods to regain control from the Phi Psis and in 1861, the opposition organized themselves into a secret society called the Iota.Read more
