The success of any chapter depends on the cohesiveness of the entire brotherhood.  Brother unity is therefore an essential building block for which all of our achievements both on campus and in the community can be credited.  Rather than merely an obligation, brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon have an everlasting friendship connecting our newest pledge to our oldest alumnus.  Ritual establishes this bond as it ties us to the same ideals that our Founders created in 1856.  Realizing ritual’s impact on the unification of the entire chapter, it seems only natural to combine the roles of the Chaplain and Herald into an executive board position responsible for uniting the brotherhood by instilling our ideals through Sigma Alpha Epsilon traditions. 

As Eminent Herald, I am excited to accept the responsibility for carrying out rituals and uniting the chapter.  Installing ritual distinguishes traditional ceremonies from habitual tasks by creating lifelong memories.  Since January, ceremonies and brother unity events have given us enjoyable experiences that we will forever share.  Upon realizing both the significance of these events and the fun that they entail, brothers have embraced the role that tradition and unity play in our fraternity by helping me organize events.  I expect this momentum to continue with next year’s class as they take pride in the history and ideals of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  For that reason, our chapter will continue to flourish as we create tighter friendships through the ritual and traditions that makes us True Gentlemen.
