Auditions

Auditions for the Rooke Chapel Choir, as well as the University Chorale are held throughout the week of the Fall Semester. To audition, sign up for a time slot on Dr. Payn's door, which is located upstairs in the Siegfried Weis Music Building.

Freshmen can easily sign up during orientation. Your OA will be happy to help you find the Music Building.

On occasion, Dr. Payn also holds Spring Semester auditions for Chapel Choir. While he does not audition by request, keep an eye out for campus emails from DP concerning open spots that may arise in Choir throughout the year.

 

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm to 6:15. Roughly three out of four Sundays per month, the Chapel Choir meets for church. On these days a rehearsal is held at 10:00am, followed by breakfast and the service at Rooke Chapel from 11:00 to 12:00. Dress rehearsals, of which there are two per semester, run until 6:45. Students are also required to sing for the Easter Service, the Baccalaureate, and in all three Candlelights Services.

Tour Requirement

All RCC members are expected to attend our bi-annual, ten day tour. Please be sure that you have no prior obligations before auditioning. Students are expected to pay for the expence of their participation in tour, however limited partial scholarships are available through the coutesy of Rooke Chapel Choir's generous benefactors.
