Rooke Chapel Choir
Bucknell University -- Lewisburg, PA 17837 -- (570) 577-1391

What could be better than a group of Bucknell students getting together to sing, travel, and have a good time? If you enjoy meeting new people, fun, and most importantly, singing quality literature, you will find yourself at home with the Rooke Chapel Choir!

Sunday Services:
Performing every Sunday for the Protestant services held in Bucknell's Rooke Chapel, the Rooke Chapel Choir sings a variety of both classical and contemporary sacred music. The repertoire of the ensemble extends anywhere from madrigals such as Cantata Domino, to contemporary spirituals such as Moses Hogan's Elijah Rock. Frequently, the group also performs pieces written by its members.

Christmas Candlelight Service:
Each December, the choir joins the Rooke Chapel Ringers in welcoming the Christmas season with the annual Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols. The Candlelight Service, which has in the past been recorded by PBS for national television broadcast, showcases the two groups, interspersed with Biblical readings and congregational singing. This year the service will include music from Spain and Latin America in preparation for the trip in May, as well as the traditional carols, Once in Royal David's City and Silent Night. A full program for the service can be found here.

Travel with the Choir:
Internationally renowned, the Rooke Chapel Choir travels to festivals throughout the world every other year. The choir is currently working hard to prepare for a concert tour in Uruguay and Argentina this spring. Immediately following Bucknell's Commencement services, the choir will leave for South America, and will spend two weeks traveling and performing throughout the area. Past Tours
