May 1, 2000 Whereas, the National Panhellenic Conference has resolved to support the efforts of fraternity houses to be dry by fall of 2000, Whereas, the National Panhellenic Conference has revolved to not endorse the co-sponsorship of events involving alcohol in chapter facilities, Whereas, all national chapters at Bucknell University have pledged support of this resolution in varying degrees, Whereas we, as fraternity women, recognize the need for increased personal and chapter responsibility, Whereas we, as fraternity women, recognize the increasing risk of alcohol abuse among college students, Whereas the members of the Panhellenic Council strive consistently to reduce underage consumption of alcohol, Whereas, we support the efforts and desires of fraternity men to live in clean and pleasant houses, Whereas co-sponsoring can be defined as planning, running, or endorsing a function. Be It Hereby Resolved, that the Bucknell University Panhellenic Council and its chapters will not, by Fall 2000, support the co-sponsorship of all functions involving alcohol, Be It Hereby Further Resolved, that individual chapters will be charged with creating a program to monitor and enforce this policy based on national and Bucknell university policies.
