IFC meeting called to order by Joe Valickus at 8pm. All Chapters Present. (Held at TKE) 1. Special Guest- Michael Harkness: Order to Omega- great way to get your fraternity involved on campus. Only criteria are that you have to be above Greek GPA average and be at least a junior. 2. Special Guest- Peter Sherman: Katy Curtin MS Foundation. Through financial aid to achieve patient care. Helps to treat individuals diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Treats more than 450 patients. Possible recipient for MPP this year. 3. Special Guest- Shane Riccio: Carl Riccio Trust- paralyzed during an undefeated season wrestling. Would like to bring in Shane and his brother next week to talk. 4. Special Guest- T & D Cats: exotic and wildlife refuge. Biggest expensive is feeding the cats. Trying to build Binturong enclosures and new tiger enclosures. Encourage fraternities to come out. Contact: 570-837-3377 5. Alumni Liaison - Greg Wagner: Fast Facts are coming out shortly. He will forward copy to the presidents. Check e-mail for all Greek alumni chair meeting. 6. GAMMA - Penton Mott: Alcohol Awareness Speaker: Professor at Duke- scientific approach to alcohol awareness. His specialty is in youth audience. Nice change of pace. 7. GAME - Chen Mao: Discussing weekly Diversity Events with the Panhel chair. 8. Community Service/Philanthropy - Scott Shapiro: Looking for more MPP recipients. Lambda and Kappa Sigma wanted to change downtown cleanup date. Thanks to DU for helping out with the Ice Festival. 9. Special Events - Jack Swain: Few designs for House Party mugs. We will vote in new business. 10. Secretary - Chris Petersen: Pictures are up on the website. E-mail Chris if you want a different picture on the website. 11. Recruitment - Arjun Raman: Send three pictures to him for the Meet the Greeks. 25 people need to be in attendance. Manual will start to be updated. Make sure you have recruitment events. 12. Treasurer - Jeff Pike: Went to Treasurer’s Workshop. Going to Appropriations next week. Hopes to get 5000 dollars for food. 13. VP-External - Abe Brodach: If you haven’t sent article, please send it. They want to get it out before Spring Break. All-Campus Olympics is saving money from last year. 14. VP-Internal - Tom Leaman: Constitution Revision Committee will take a representative from each fraternity. Let Tom know who you want your representative to be. GMT- we will be at the NGLA’s this weekend so there will be no visits. Please do not get into any trouble. Saturday- DU, Chi Phi, TKE 15. President - Joe Valickus: Start putting Public Safety Update/Feedback once a week. Contact Chief Friedberg if you have any problems with anything. Card Access System- will be meeting with them next week but at a maximum you will get three doors to your house. They are pretty much unwavering at this point, but talk to Joe if you have any problems. Mary and Joe will be having office hours on Wednesdays from 4-5 in the Niche starting next week. 16. Panhellenic- Mary O’Sullivan: Contact DG so that every organization can be involved in Anchor Splash. Started the process of adding a new sorority. 17. Public Safety- Officer Snyder (absent): The events that occurred this weekend are being taken care of. 18. Greek Advisor - Dean Marrara: Student/Athlete program will be sponsored soon. Thanks for coming to the program tonight about HIV and AIDS. Any feedback just let him know. The house list for fraternities is due March 1st. On March 4th, the 1 in 4 program will be here and you can get your Sexual Assault credit easily. You are not doing a very good job with your sign-up lists for parties. Be more aware of what goes on with your risk management. Chrysalis is in the end of April, so no Greek events can be that weekend. Dave is doing a great job; if you cannot get in touch with Dean Marrara, contact him. A brother of Phi Psi has come down with bacterial meningitis. If anyone seems like they have the flu and it gets worse, make sure to vigilant within your chapter houses. NGLA is this weekend so challenge the executive board next week about what they learn. E-mail Dean Marrara for the next week because he will not be here. 19. Old Business: An e-mail will be sent to the Management 101 company for their approved house party shirts. 20. New Business: Voting on the House Party Mug. Vote between idea of Rambo and idea of the Wave. Motion for Rambo fails. Motion for Wave also fails. Motion for slogan “Go Big Or Go Home” passes.
