General Council Meeting Minutes
March 24 , 2008

  • Meeting was called to order at 6:00

    • Roll Call
      • All present

      • Jack Swain: IFC Special Events Chair, House Party
        • All guests registration forms due by Wednesday @ 4:30 pm, LC207
        • All non-greeks, visitors, and those over 21: pick up wristbands Thurs-Sat in Walls Lounge or House Party Tent by Library
        • Look for email with more details and clarifications
      • Jenny Hirsch: 10th annual Chrysalis
        • April 25th from 9pm-1am in the field house
        • Students: $15 for pre-registration, $20 after April 1st
        • KC and the Sunshine Band and the Village People
      • Shane Riccio: BUnique Mugs
        • Management Company
        • Personal etchings one side, Greek letters/ Bucknell symbol on other side
        • Order forms due April 2nd (discounts for orders over 20)
        • Proceeds go to Bucknell Alum painting downtown mural

        • Friday, April 4th 8-12pm; 5 bands, 2 stages, raffle prizes

        • Suggestion from the floor: consider Campus-wide “Greek Letter Day”
      • BU Olympics!! encourage chapter involvement (P4P university sponsored event)
      • Wing Fest benefits this year’s Million Penny Project
      • House Party: General Information
        • Be safe and have fun!
        • give contact info to your sisters and pass on email information;
        • make sure PA schedule is posted (extra shifts, contact numbers)
      • House Part: Funding
        • Suggestion from floor: consider adding “house party non-alc funding” to budget next year
        • Motion from floor: fund Theta Chi and Delta Upsilon $500 each
        • Motion passed: 5-0-1 (yes-no-abstain)
      • Million Penny Project Vote
        • Motion from floor: Hand Up Foundation as this year’s recipient
        • Motion passed: 5-1-0 (yes-no-abstain)
        • Motion from floor: StayTough, FightHard, Inc.

        • IFC already passed Hand Up Foundation therefore it will be MMP
        • Currently 1450 members of Greek systems, about $7/person
        • Extra funding can be used in emergency issues upon IFC and Panhel vote

          • 20 participants from each chapter (1 hour), NO letter shirts

          • Alpha Phi Omega Blood Drive March 26th, 12-6pm (2 hours for donating, 1 hour for trying)
      • Irene Tsao: GAME
        • Celebration of Diversity: Tues. April 8, 5:30-7pm in Sojka; all sororities will be represented by GAME committee. Stop in and show support!
        • Another GAME diversity event next fall with Greek and multicultural organizations; look for email with more information
