General Council Meeting Minutes
February 1 8, 2008
- Meeting was called to order at 5:30
- Roll Call
- Guests
- Jennifer Mattive: T&D’s Cats of the World, Exotic Animal Refuge
- Permanent home for over 200 animals; provide mental and physical care
- 60+ cats (leopards, lions, tigers) that eat 12,000 lbs of meat each month!
- Educate the public; assist in state and local cases of welfare issues
- What they need
- Donations (money and food?)
- Volunteers (construction, animal care, website updates, etc.)

- Renee Perry: Powder Puff Football Tournament
- Chi Omega is co-sponsoring philanthropy event with TKE
- Sunday April 6th
- Teams of 7-10 players (possible pledge-class rivalries?)
- Cash prize for winners; registration fee about $60/team

- Mary presented the proposed changes

- Will vote on changes at next Panhel meeting
- “Questioning the Greeks”
- Only the negative side of the issue is portrayed
- Need to focus on getting more positive press (check out this week’s Bucknellian!)
- Women’s Resource Center might want to explain their stance; want sorority members to feel comfortable using this resource
- Some of the “facts” referenced are not true
- Very one-sided; fails to represent our choice in decision (eg: Houses)
- consider emailing all faculty and staff with a link when “Alpha to Omega” is printed to increase positive publicity

- Created sub-committees under executive positions to allow everyone to get involved and increase communication

- this would allow COB until chapter average (120) is reached
- last week it was motioned to allow Chi Omega to COB until chapter average is reached, but must vote to approve this for the new chapter first
