Penn's Womens Sectionals Haverford College
Haverford, PA
April 13th and 14th

The time has come to determine who goes and who does not go to regionals. The frogs came into the tournament ranked 7th and only the top 5 finishing spots received bids to regionals. On the first day the frogs met Shippensburg who came to sectionals playing savage. They played a great game and put up quite a fight. After a win against Shippensburg the frogs were brought back down to earth with a point-for-point match up against Carnegie Mellon. Penn State was the frog's next opponent. Ranked 2nd overall at the tournament they definitely brought their A-game. A 1-13 loss for the frogs was tough to recover from. The frogs them oved on to Pitt. While the frogs were able to score the first point (a break point!) that would be the only one. Still, a break point against a Nationals qualifying team is something to brag about! The frogs finished teh day 3-2 after a win against Allegheny. The frogs still had a chance to go to regionals. On the second day the frogs met Penn State and Carnegie Mellon and finally played Haverford. The last game of the day was Bucknell and Haverford fighting for the last bid to regionals. One of the most intense women's games ever played was littered with layouts, full field hucks, hand blocks from both teams. The score 9-15 Haverford does not reflect how close this game really was. Unfortunately the Peacefrogs didn't make it to Regionals this year but with the loss of only three seniors, regionals is definitely an attainable goal for next year!

Also, special thanks to the alum that came out to watch us! It was a great confidence booster to have a sideline!

Spring Phling Penn State
State College, PA
April 5th and 6th

Returning to the north and thus cold weather this tournament was hosted by Penn State. The frogs played well and surprisingly, NOT savage! (at least for the first day). Despite the weather the frogs were still 4-0 the first day. The second day did not fair as well. The frogs met the intimadating Stuyvessant High School and were not prepared for their textbook style O. After losing the extremely well trained high schoolers the frogs were done finishing 6th overall in the tournament.

High Tide Savannah, GA
March 11 through 13

The warm weather was a nice change from the harsh conditions of mountainous Lewisburg, PA. The frogs played skillfully among many worthy opponents. Every game was played with unprecedented intensity. Highlights include the honor of playing the lovely Fox Force Sevens of Syracuse TWICE, a win over American 8-7 with some of the longest points ever played in an ultimate game and a very near-win against the twice-our-size Bowdoin. Every girl played their heart out and partied twice as hard culminating in a first place title in the Chumpionship bracket. Well done, froggies!

WOO for being able to play outside again! We were savage + 1 (thanks to our special player "Denver"). It was rough to be outside again but we played really well and had a great time! Highlight of the weekend: PEGGY GOT A CALLAHAN! The first one of her career! Other highlights include Sham handling, Flex having SICK NASTY D's (I think she was up to like 10 by the end of the weekend), Sauce going long and being open all the time (as well as making up new terms for being "open", Hollywood had sickkkkk hucks, Mav drop-kicked a girl in the boob and hammers were thrown (AND CAUGHT). It was overall an amazing weekend. We played well and we played some really good teams. Thing's are looking really good for Savannah in only TWO MORE WEEKS!

This was a great tournament for us! Only an hour away and all the teams we will be seeing at later tournaments! We were so excited when Penn State brought back their semi-annual tournaments. Saturday we started off by playing a very new team, Millersville. This was a great game for both teams resulting in a "W" for the Peacefrogs! We played a great game with Haverford and though we beat them at a previous tournament they showed us what was up and capitalized bringing the Peacefrogs to a record of 1-1. They're hosting a tournament at the end of October and it should be a great match! We finished the game with an 11v.11 layout point/dinosaur point! I can't speak for Haverford but Bucknell always has a TON of fun playing those Sneetches. After this game we played a tough game against NYU. The Violet Femmes took the game but we put up a fight. After the game we played a game of miniature tanks which lifted everyone's spirits. We played a crossover game after this to determine our standings for Sunday. Unfortunately since we went 1-2 the first day we ended up in the B Bracket. We ended up taking 5th in the B bracket after a win against Johns Hopkins and Syracuse but a loss to Princeton.

We had a great showing! This one-day tournament was a great way to get back into the swing of things. We started off the morning by beating UPenn and shutting down their HO stack. Next we played UDel which was a close game and a lot of fun! After a tough loss to UDel we went on to play a close game with Haverford but this time coming out on top! Even though we lost to both Swarthmore and Penn State we put up a fight we look forward to seeing both these teams at tournaments later this semester. Great job to everyone that came! Especially all of our newbies! You were all AMAZING!!
