Hello!! My name is Jessica and I'm a senior here at Bucknell. I'm a double major in Creative Writing and Women and Gender Studies, and I just got back from a year abroad, first in Spain and then in England.

I'm pretty active on campus. I am the co-ordinator of V-day Bucknell, which puts on a production of The Vagina Monologues each February. I'm also secretary for FLAG & BT and I work in the Office of LGBT Awareness, which is a pretty cool place to work! In the past I've also been a part of the Bucknell Brigade, Intergroup Dialogue (AKA The Elephant in the Room), and Sirens, a feminist group. My sophomore year I was president of FLAG. (Being that this is my senior year, and I only have so much time, I've had to cut back a little bit.)

My other interests include a love of writing: I write poetry, and keep a journal. I also like horseback riding, swimming in my river at home, kayaking, birdwatching. Interesting fact about me: my family and I own three llamas...

I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which is a pretty rural place, and there was a lot of homophobia in my highschool. I came out to myself my junior year, and senior year was pretty lonely because I was closeted in school. (Luckily I have a very supportive family.) It was so great to come to Bucknell and find a community of LGBT people and allies. FLAG & BT is very important to me because I know what it is like to feel alone.
