Originally founded as the Starletts Drill Team, this student-run organization transformed itself into the Bison Girls Dance Team in 1998. Poms and kick lines were traded for a new look and hip hop style dancing. The team performs at Bison Basketball home games, and for special events on campus.

The 2011-2012 Bison Girls Dance Team consists of 23 members. Team officers include a president who handles general business, two co-captains who choreograph dances and run practices, and a treasurer who handles team finances. Decision-making, however, is a team process and all members are encouraged to help with choreography.
