Listen to the dojo kun!!

kneeling dojo

Line up! Repeat the dojo kun. These are the words you will hear at the end of every training. We recite these guiding principles to remind ourselves why we train karate. These are the rules of the dojo, but it doesn't end here. In learning to discipline your mind in karate, you discipline your mind in every facet of your life. "Think of everyday life as karate training" - Funakoshi

In simpler terms - "Essentially the dojokun is a type of shrink wrap agreement that comes with karate. By breaking this seal you agree not to go around mouthing off, bullying people, and generally creating mayhem that might encourage the government to come and burn down our karate school. You agree to try hard in class, attempt to better yourself and others, and behave the way that we expect you to."
