Welcome to Bucknell Anime Society

This club was formed in October of 2000 by anime fans attending Bucknell University.

Our club promotes the better understanding of modern Japanese culture. To do this, we view and study Japanese animation, or anime. Anime is more than an aesthetic art form. It is a social tool which can be used to communicate knowledge such as: societal norms, political viewpoints, morals, pop culture, and the shared history of a people. By studying a culture's art and media, one can thereby learn valuable sociological information about that culture. Our club also studies manga, which is a form of illustrated novel, for the same reasons.

Yay, the old site is gone (kinda). The new layout is finally up on the school server. Have fun. I haven't touched the Schedules and Archives and Gallery pages, but everything else is good...

It is the early, early morning (think 3:16 AM) of Thanksgiving Day, and I am finally done coding this new layout. It features Vash the Stampede from Trigun, Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach, and Sagara Sousuke and Chidori Kaname from Full Metal Panic! Yay, yay, I got to choose who would be on the banner because I am the one who has to put in the annoying hours to make it (along with everything else). Anyway, l will be gradually moving content from the old site onto this new site thinger, but I will also be doing some 'sprucing up' in the process.
