About Do-RAK Mission Statement: The mission of Do-RAK (Do-Random Acts of Kindness) is to promote genuine acts of kindness in our community. We expect nothing in return, but we hope our deeds inspire others to spread kindness throughout their lives. How Bucknell Do-RAK Began... In the fall of 2005, Do-RAK began to take form at Bucknell. On February 6, 2006 the group became officially recognized by Bucknell University. The first campus-wide e-mail and interest meeting attracted about 35 students. With the excitement of such a solid beginning, Do-RAK and its members are hoping to start spreading kindness around the Bucknell campus and in Lewisburg (PA). The group was formed in memory of the late Katie Kennedy, cousin of the group's founder, who was part of the University of Michigan's Do-RAK organization. Officially, we are Do-Random Acts of Kindness: Katie Kennedy Chapter. Another big inspiration for starting the group was the novel (by Catherine Ryan Hyde) and movie, Pay it Forward.
