Bucknell ASCE Chapter Objectives

The Bucknell ASCE student chapter is a student led branch of the national American Society of Civil Engineers.  Membership is open to all majors, regardless of academic background.  The chapter promotes friendship among classes, students, and professors through speakers, social gatherings, and study breaks.  Hands on experience in civil engineering design and project management is provided through national competitions such as the concrete canoe and steel bridge competition.  Our goal is to complement our superior engineering education by providing a foundation for the understanding of civil engineering as a profession and how it relates to everyday social, environmental, and economic issues both domestically and internationally.  Student members of this professional organization are encouraged to interact with professional engineers and develop contacts that can further promote career aspirations.
